 Meeting Topics:

The Pittsburgh Deafblind Lion's Club has been working
with Operation Pittsburgh Pride to collect items for
soldiers and troops overseas. Their next ship date
will be February 1, 2008. If you would like to support
this project and the men and women overseas, I
encourage you to bring one, two, three, or as many
items as you wish to the Jan 8 meeting. Anything and
everything is greatly appreciated. They will then be
given to Alison Weber, the Pittsburgh Deafblind Lion's
Club representative, who will make sure the items are
included in the February 1st shipment. Attached is a
list of suggested items.

The workshop will be presented in ASL; a voice interpreter will NOT be provided.  Any other accommodations should be made known to Mj Shahen by January 5, 2008.

 

At the end of this workshop, the participant will be able to

1) Recognize, identify, and analyze the different categories of conversational, theatrical, and cinematic ASL.

2) Demonstrate the ability to use each category within ASL structure, to switch between categories, to demonstrate to others, apply, or interpret the theatrical and cinematic categories within ASL structure.

 

PARID is approved by the RID CMP to sponsor Continuing Education Activities. This program is offered for 0.3CEUs in Professional Studies. Participants should have some knowledge of the topic.
